LETTER TO MAGICK

 

Above is a cherished photo of you when we first became roommates.  We literally nearly lost you my baby boy.  The horrible Animal Kill Shelter was going to put you to sleep on Halloween. Whoever abused and tortured you in your first four months of life will have to pay dearly.  So battered were you, that you cried for another four months remembering how much they hurt you.

THEN.... A miraculous and rapid change happened! 

The first thing I noticed was that you were brilliant.  If there was such a thing as CAT MENSA, surely YOU would have started and managed it! 

The way you could repeat complicated tasks, actually do things that were mechanical, and spoke in repeatable paragraphs, was startling.  Your love and kindness began to show through once you realized you were truly loved and nurtured.  Everyone was your friend.  If any of our other pets wanted an argument, you simply walked away with dignity.  The manner in which you dedicated yourself to our baby Bengal Leopards was beyond motherly.  That's how you earned your loving nickname,

UNCLE MAGICK!  The babies would follow you around as if you were their GOD!  You taught them manners.  Oh Magick, you trained them so carefully and wisely...

 

 

In the photo above, you were still healthy and agile.  All I had to do was think of something, and your huge, exquisite apple green eyes would acknowledge you knew what I was saying to you.  Truly we had, and still have, TELEPATHY! 

When your time came to leave us after ten years, it arrived with such a tragic and rapid end from spreading Lymphoma. It metastasized in a frenzy of speed, so fast that we had to give you the needle of peace. 

As you went limp in my arms, I traveled with you to the Rainbow Bridge. 

Nothing in any language I know can describe the agony of losing you.

It was way past human words.  But then....

You began your visits.  Many people who heard of you and about your gifts, told me of your magical visits to help them from spirit.  Two particular encounters stand out to me now.  First was my friend who was dying from cancer.  The chemo/radiation put her into the hospital. She said you visited and alleviated her pain. Sandy didn't know you in life, but you visited her to help the misery.  Even though she was so ill, Sandy wrote me an e-mail telling me about your healing presence in her hospital room.  She said you came to her from Heaven.

Next was physical proof.  We buried you under our fragrant grapefruit tree.  My friend took 26 photos of his work on our home, building an additional room.  One photo clearly showed a white, arched rainbow with a vivid outlined image of a cat entering one of the windows of the room he built.  When my friend showed us the photo, he said there was nothing going on like watering plants, clouds, or any disturbances.  It was sunny and clear.  To say we cherish this proof of life after life, is an understatement.  In other words, MAGICK NEVER LEFT!
